This was okay in my opinion. There was a lot of foul language, which I didn't feel was necessary. There was suspense all the way through, which is good, but I found the romance aspect lacking. I will go on to read the third book in this series, as I thought the first one (Black Ice) was great.

Typical Anne Stuart novel. The characters are, perhaps, the least evenly matched of her dominant men and not-quite-submissive women. Despite that, I didn't want to put it down until the end.

Lots of action in this one! And lots of steamy sex as well. ;-) A great action romance were the hero doesn't have superpowers...just darn good at his job.

I didn't read this as part of the series, so I can't say if it follows the first book or even what the other after this one is like, but I can say that this was a good read.

Excellent book, well written and captivating just like all her other books in the Ice series!

This was definitely one of the best Anne Stuart books I've read. The emotion was very deep but the conflict (is he going to do it...is he not going to do it) got a teensy bit tiresome buy overall did not detract too much from the book. I think all of Anne's heros are sexy. I'd probably want to kill them in real life but in my fantasy life, they're perfect.

2nd in Stuart's 'ice' series and another 'cold' hero. He has the job of killing her because she happened to be in the wrong place at the wrong time. Personally I didn't care for the woman too much so it didn't bother me if he offed her or not! ok, I did care I guess. anways, he had opportunity to kill her when he drugged her yet he lets her wake up and informs her he has to kill her then gives her self defense 'lessons' and pointers and later seduces her to prove he can make her 'feel ' something yet doesn't allow himself to feel...sorta weird..the woman is stupid IMO and the bad guy in this one is just creepy creepy for me but overall a good story and brings bastien back briefly as well as introduces the star of book 3 - ice blue. I like Peter better as he appears briefly in the other stories and can sympathize with him more.

An attractive young lawyer stops by a billionairs yacht to get some papers signed on her way to her vacation and falls into a tale of operatives, secrecy, world intrigue and dangerous characters. What is the Rule of Seven? A worthwhile read.

Working for the committee, Secret Operative Peter Jensen is ready to finish his latest mission...kill Billionaire Harry Van Dorn. Mr. Van Dorn is well known for his philanthropy. What most people don't know is he has a plan to bring down the world financial markets with a series of seven terrorist attacks. Peter must stop him, but an innocent bystander has got in his way. Genevieve Spenser is a lawyer who just needs Van Dorn's signature on some paperwork. Now she is being held against her will and just may end up being collateral damage in a mission to save the world.

This is the second book in Anne Stuart's Ice series. Stuart has written her usual dark hero who I found very compelling. Peter Jensen is very cold and proud of the fact that he can control his emotions. Or does he even have any emotions? When Genevieve finally breaks through his icy veneer things get very interesting. I was thoroughly entertained by this story and will definitely be reading the next book. I just wish it hadn't ended so abruptly. Another chapter would have helped wind up the story. My rating: 4.5 Stars.

I read and decided to keep the first bk (BLACK ICE) in this series but this bk was not as engaging for me so I'm passing it on.

FYI:
from Publisher's Weekly:
"In Anne Stuart's strong follow-up to 2005's spectacular Black Ice, supporting player Peter Jensen moves into the leading role in a romantic suspense story pitting him and other members of the mysterious "Committee"-a group of international secret agents-against Texas billionaire Harry Van Dorn and his diabolical plan to create seven worldwide tragedies for fun and profit. Unfortunately, the arrival of lawyer Genevieve Spencer on Van Dorn's yacht throws a wrench in Jensen's assassination scheme. While he could easily dispose of her as "collateral damage," Genevieve breaks through his icy veneer and he gives her the means to fight her way out of danger. The brilliant Van Dorn is wildly over the top in his depravity, easily outdoing the most shameless James Bond baddie, but Stuart's spare writing keeps the gripping story focused. Though too much relies on Jensen's failure to tell Genevieve about her client's true motives, and Genevieve herself is an inadequate match for the steely agent, the chemistry between them crackles. Stuart courts controversy with Jensen's lack of emotion and total body control, allowing him to use sex as a tool for disarming both women and men; her hero's sexual flexibility is bound to turn off some readers, just as it's bound to entice others. Those who take the plunge shouldn't be disappointed: Stuart knows how to take chances, and this edgy thriller shows how well they can pay off."
