Its almost like reading the middle and ending chapters of a book without the beginning. There is a presumption of knowledge of what has transpired before in this series that detracted and story lines that were entirely meaningless to me. I enjoy books in a series with the same characters and like to see how they develop but expect enough information about what they are doing and why to follow the story.
