For people who enjoy Maya Banks' Colters books, have you read the descripton of the next one? I am NOT looking forward to it. In fact I preordered a few books the other day and I was going to include that one, until I read and thought through what the book was about...

******************

When it came to overcoming the odds of a tragic past, Lily was determined to move on. The three Colter brothers helped her do it. They taught her new ways to love, new dreams to share, and offered her a new life that she never thought possible.

Now is a time for celebration, and what better way than with a long-awaited family reunion, a homecoming that will bring together the entire Colter family and a few surprises no one anticipated.

But first, there's still something from Lily's past she still needs to reconcile--even when all the while she is holding close to her heart a newfound secret that will change her future, forever enrich the Colter legacy, and make every promise come true.

************

If you read the first one about Lily and the brothers,  you will know exactly what "something from Lily's past" is all about. And I don't think it takes a rocket scientist to figure out what "holding close to her heart a newfound secret that will change her future blah blah....." is about.

This whole book sounds like an epilogue to the first one. How could it possibly fill 256 pages unless there is even more sex than usual. And $7.99 when it's the size of a Harlequin? Please. I don't even know if I want to spend a credit on it. I'll wait for the reviews.

Thanks for reading my rant, comments and opinions welcome!

Seriously?  Lily's book needed a sequel?  I really liked the first one better.  I liked the boys, but Lily's problems didn't resonate with me.  They seemed rather silly actually.  I'm really not sure how you cant drag another two hundred pages out on the exact same thing.  But maybe we are missing something Anne.  Could be the most amazing thing every and we just don't know it.

Of all the erotica that I have read, Colter's Woman is the only one I really hated.  For some reason, just EEEWWWWWWW.

I liked all 3 Colter books, have them as keepers. But the next one? Sounds ridiculous. And I think I saw her mention on Facebook that another Colter book will be coming out. I wonder who that's about.

I've liked all the Colter books and I'm sure I'll get this one too.

Bumping this back up because I did get the book (via FIFO) and read it today.

Yeah, not much story here and it was pretty predictible but it was a fast easy read.  And almost no sex at all.

The next book has to be about Lauren, Callie's sister-in-law.

Well, I've read it, and it wasn't bad.  It's not as focused on Lily as you'd think.  It covers all of the families and what's going on with all of them, and adds in a new character, Lauren.  I enjoyed it, I loved the original Colter's Woman, so seeing the original 4 and how their relationship is was nice.

And almost no sex at all.

That is not possible for a Colter book!  Really!  Whatever did they talk about?

It jumped back and forth between the 3 sets of Colters and was a pretty short book so not much room for sex.  It's set at Christmastime.

That doesn't sound so great. Maybe I'll read it around Christmas time.

From Maya Banks facebook page:

Hey guys! I'm on the road to Florida (I've been on the road since 4 a.m.) and from what I can see on my phone (I have limited Internet access today) Colters' Promise is on sale at all the places it should be.

I'd like to ask a very special favor in spreading the word about this special pricing promotion. It has far reaching implications on the future of digital pricing and the publisher is going to be studying this sale carefully.

Readers already know the importance of digital pricing and are very aware of the significance of overpricing but we need for the publisher to receive this message loud and clear so that the people who determine digital pricing for the publisher will know and understand that Colters' Gift which releases next April needs to be priced lower so that readers are able to afford and WANT to afford a more reasonably priced book.

I and my agent can advocate and argue on behalf of readers but until readers speak out, our objections are largely ignored.

So I ask your help to get the word out about this sale because a lot is riding on it. Lots of people are paying attention to see if lowering a price has significant impact on sales. If it DOES then it's going to be an awesome victory for readers because then the publisher will look at future releases (like Colters' Gift) and adjust digital prices accordingly.

Fingers and toes crossed!!! And thanks in advance for your support and let's keep fingers crossed we see a more appropriate price for Colters' Gift!!! xoxo ♥ ♥ ♥

-----she then says the Sony store won't honor the sale!

I bought a copy from Amazon, and you can get it at B&N.
