When I checked me email this morning I was delighted to discover I had a book request. Printed the wrapper, stamped the envelope and set it out to mail Monday morning. Doubly thrilled this afternoon when I was notified of a second request. Oh, joy. Oh, bliss. Two requests in one day. When I said yes, I could mail the book, the system asked if I would like to send both books as a bulk request to save postage. Well, nuts, the first book was wrapped, stamped, ready to go. Thought I would just print the second wrapper on a used piece of paper and tape the two together. Postage wouldn't change. Well, lo and behold! The first book wants to go to California and the second book wants to go to Texas!! Maybe the first book can take the southern route and drop the second off as it passes through Texas. Can anyone say, "Comptuer glitch?" |

Maybe it's from the same person, but they are having the 2nd book going to another address? The system would probably just notice that the same person had ordered. |

Rhonda -- The first thing I did was hit the PM button to see if it really was the same person. Two different names popped up. Somehow I think it was just a glitch as they were both ordered on the same day. It will be interesting to see how they get marked received. I may just PM the first person to see if she actually did order both books. Curious. |

if someone orders a book to be shipped to someone else, does it show up as that person? I have never looked so not sure what it looks like actually I guess it would because someone has to mark it as received so it would have to be the member with the account Last Edited on: 12/9/07 8:29 PM ET - Total times edited: 1 |

Sharon, the second person may have ordered two books and then cancelled one before you ever realized you had an order. This happened to me once and I remember that it said "bulk order" even though it was only for one book. Maybe it's just a coincidence that it was the second order you received today. |

No, Leslie. I have books sent to my mom all the time and she's not a member. She has to let me know when she gets them so I can mark them as received. Actually, none of the folks I've had books sent to have been members. |

I think Kristen might be right. The system probably goes by the first request - an order for 2+ books, and doesn't "update" when one is canceled.
