I decided to give this a try after I read "Tender at the Bone" and liked it. I wish I had read this book first--this is an autobiography that covers Ruth Reichl's entry and start of her food writing career. Intertwined with some interesting recipes, this book was enjoyable to read. The writing style is easy to read, emotional (without being over the top) and intriguing. I was sad to finish and wished for another . . .
Excellent sequel to Tender at the bone-Ruth Reichel's life is awesome
If you liked Tender at the bobe, the author's first book, you will enjoy this one.
I really enjoyed this food-related autobiography--the combination of the story plus descriptions of food and recipes was great.
I'm a cookbook lover, and enjoy reading about authors who cook. I really liked this book, and found it to be a poignant, yet hilarious collection of stories about people (Reichl) has known and loved, and helped steer her on the path to becoming one of the world's leading food writers.
Another one of hers that I love! Great read for any foodie!
