This novel was long awaited. Read many books by David Poyer and finally Dan Lenson got his own command. Was thrilled by the action but with a mixed gender crew the CO had more problens than normal capatain have. The day to day action was intresting even too a laymen of the Navy. With his XO being female he had to back off on some of the ways Dan Lenson was trained to handle. The ending was sad, but it seemed factual, but anytime a ship is sent to rest in the bone yard is a sad day for any crewmembers. I truely enjoyed this novel for the problems that occured, the work up time for deployment, and at sea times. Robert K. Ramstad, LT, USN (RET)
