With the new Common Core Standards starting soon, I'm looking for more excerpts, novels, short stories, documents, that are nonfiction that work with U.S. History pre-1900s, and Medieval History from Roman Empire to Age of Exploration. If you have any ideas please share, thanks ahead of time :)

I am a history prof and Latin teacher and your request is intriguing.  What grade level are you dealing with?  Are you talking Suetonius, The Aeneid of Virgil, Abelard & Heloise or parts of a medieval charter and The Black Death?  Literature vs primary sources?  Let me know,  I've put together a workbook beginning with the Romans through 1500.  I'm not big on American History however.  Dano
