Graphic novels are a unique twist for romance books, but unfortunately, it is the same old, boring plots. In this one, the "ugly duckling" gets the most eligible bachelor. By the drawings, however the "ugly duckling" is actually prettier than all the people (especially her sister) of whom she is jealous. It is her attitude is what makes her unattractive. The character comes off as not only have a low self-esteem, but also as being extremely bitter.
It is also a bit distracting to learn to read from front-to-back, making it seem like the lines are a bit out of sequence as well.

Silhouette Romance #512, June 1988. For anyone interested in reading one of her earlier books before she made it big in mainstream publishing.

From the back: Shane Reynolds knew talent when he saw it, and Carrie Lockett was definitely talented. After collecting her paintings and admiring her from afar, Shane thought he knew what made Carrie tick. It should be fairly easy to make the woman of his dreams fall in love with him.

As with all of Debbie Macomber's books, I didn't want to put the book down once I started it.

After years of living in her sister's shadow and losing countless boyfriends to her, Carrie Lockett cannot believe that hunky Shane Reynolds could really fall for her!
