As the title reflects this book provides patterns and instructions for 34 quilt blocks. The book contains pictures of finished quilts constucted with the highlighted quilt block. But this book is primarily a technique book and about half the book is devoted to various topics such as choosing colors, piecing squares together and adding boarders. I thought the author did a particular good job of providing information on how to select colors. Because many of the quilts use the same quilt square throughout, the author uses color to add beauty and variety to each quilt.
