Having only read collections of Stephen King short stories before this, some of the shorter stories seemed a little empty. I didn't ever really care about the characters or their motives. However, I loved most of the stories set in the South. I am eager to read more of Capote's works now. This was a nice appetizer before "In Cold Blood."
