I scan my records and email them to our homeschool social worker each month. She is a real nice lady and very helpful. When they try to print them out they print out too big for a 8 by 10 sheet. when I print out what I scan it scans fine. The lady and I are trying to figure out what the problem is. Do any of you have any ideas what either I am doing wrong or what she is doing wrong? I could really use some help with this.

Thanks

Johnnie

Hey, Johnnie, most printers have an option that allows you to 'shrink to fit' when you print so that it makes it all fit on a page.

You also might try adjusting the margins on your document when you are on the computer.  Perhaps that is what is throwing it off in the printing stage.

What else have you tried?

Thanks so much I will try that. I been working on this all day. I have it in Mircosoft photo editor, when I send it to her. I think she is opening it in paint. That makes it really big. I open it here print it out it prints out fine. I sent her a letter asking what she uses to open it. Maybe we can find a answer.

On her end, it's probably coming into the program she's using as a really big "photo".  She needs to resize it before she prints it - as someone else mentioned - shrink to fit - or she needs to manually put it in as 8.5X11 inches.

May I be nosy and ask why a social worker wants your records?

Wondering if it's a requirement of your state?

Its the homeschool social worker for homeschooling in our county. Its just a law in Ga. We have to send certain things to them.

I have to send my attendance records each month.

We are able to email our forms. Its cheaper than mailing, and we have a record that they were sent. This lady has been

really sweet to us very helpful in many ways.

Thanks for all the help. I, I think we have it worked out. She was opening it in Paint, and needed to open it in Mirosoft Photo editor.

Hi, what county do you live in?  I live in GA and never heard of a Homeschool Social Worker.  Neither has anyone in our HS group Some been doing this for 11 years!

Cool, Our person just collects the homeschool attendance forms at the end of the month.  I think the homeschool attendance has been given to several different people it is just one of those (other duties as assigned in job description).  It seems.  As long as they get the forms they are happy.  I don't think the ps has a clue....about homeschooling which is ok with me. (Just my opinion)
