Search - The Concubine (Blaze Historical) (Harlequin Blaze, No 449)

Mainstream romance heroes and heroines don’t reflect the diversity of everyday society. So when one comes out, I buy it immediately. Unfortunately, The Concubine is my second, and likely to be my last Jade Lee book. Her characters are too superficial, and Blaze should not pursue the short form historical romance. Fifty five thousand words are not enough to do the past justice.

This is an historical Blaze. The love story was well done. The look into Chinese customs in 1851 Imperial China was quite a history lesson! Intersting book.

Absolutely excellent book. Another great addition to the Blaze Historicals line. Whether Jade Lee's representation of the life of an imperial virgin, or concubine, in 19th c. China is accurate or not did not matter to me. The characters in this novel are well-developed and appealing. They interact well with just enough humor - absolutely enthralled me. Amazingly good, satisfying read!
