I have a CD audio book I'd like to post.  The CDs are in fine shape, the holders show only minor wear.

The box, however, is mangled.  One corner is ripped off.

Is this postable?  Is the box required? I'm not sure if it's considered a "cover" or a "dust jacket" equivelent on a normal book.

Sounds postable to me. You don't even have to send the outside box. The help docs say this:

  • Audiobooks do NOT have to include the box that enclosed the individual cassettes/CDs
    • The audiobooks should be packaged well if the box is missing, to prevent damage by USPS en route
    • Audio CDs must be shipped in CD cases/DVD cases, to protect them from scratching, if the original box is missing

They really need to start packaging these things better. The boxes of every audio book I own are falling to pieces!
