Everyone has one or more, an author and/or series that "you have to have" as soon as the new one comes out, even if you (gasp!) have to pay retail.  And then, once you've got it in your hands, you read it until it's finished despite the housework, the kids, the DH, the job or anything else.  Come on, fess up, who's on your list?

I start a lot of series at one time w/o feeling compelled to finish them, but Richelle Mead is one author I always want to be caught up on.

Gena Showalter

Katie MacAlister

Karen Marie Moning

Illona Andrews

Shelly Laurenston/G.A. Aikens

Most of the authors mentioned by everyone above.

I generally won't get in the WL line if my spot is over 35--I know me, I'll keep seeing the book at the bookstore (or worse, at work--we have a limited selection of new releases) and I'll end up buying.  I add personal notes to books here w/ the release date and BUY IT so I know which ones I didn't get a good WL spot on:lol:   Don't know how people stand to be 275 out of 300:lol:

Oh I love the Queen Betsy Books!!!  Love, Love, Love them!!!  And I know this is not a para author -- but I always buy Jen Lancasters books the minute they come out - in fact I usually preorder them!

Yea, you are right about being at a position anything more than 200 is a little hard to take.

Definitely Ilona Andrews and Laurell K Hamilton. And there have been some great new authors in the urban fantasy genre that I've read and loved the first and hope the next is as good as the series promises to be, like Jaye Wells.

Definitely Sookie Stackhouse (I just finished the new release, which shows how impatient I am, LOL) and Vampire Academy.  Oh, and Mercy Thompson.

Ilona Andrews and JR Ward....though I have not tried to pick up Lover Mine because I know I won't have a block of time to read it for a while, and there is no possible way I would be able to put it down once I started.

Some of my favorites are Charlaine Harris, Victoria Laurie, Carrie Vaughn.  And luckily, my library usually carries all the books in these series and if they haven't gotten it yet, I can fill out the little request card and end up getting it.

Kim Harrison (I pre-order)

Alyson Noel (I pre-ordered "Dark Flame")

Vicki Pettersson (I will be at the bookstore the day it comes out!)

Christopher Pike (been reading him for years and years and years)

Unfortunately even for books that I pre-order, I don't always read them right when I get them because I write book reviews and usually have a TBR pile of ARCs to read. I try to get in as much fun reading as I possibly can.
