Hummmm a Deathmaiden--as in Midwife only during the death process--very new story plot for me. Have never read one like it before. I found i did enjoy it. Authors first book i believe, so a bit of more juicy stuff would of made it perfect. Although i did like this read and i would read another by her. Was full of suspense and a thriller. A pleasure to read her first novel i believe.

This book had such promise. Its an interesting concept and the morality of life and death and dying with dignity seemed as if it would make for a good read. Alas the authors writing style covered up the interesting bits. She has a very flowery descriptive way of writing which works for some authors but not her. Its sort of like the good ones give you a canvas a brush and some paint and tell you what to paint. This author gives you a color by number and a box of crayolas. She describes everything in minute detail which distracts one away from the story. When a good writer does it I don't feel like I dragging my feet through muck to get to the story with this writer I did. That said the story was good the concept and interesting one and it was a quick read, it just didn't feel like one. Plus it was the authors first book so I'd be willing to give her another chance. It gets a 3 out of 5.
