When I read this, I thought the trade meant that it was a book sold in bookstores while the library binding ISBN would be a book that schools/libraries would order.

I'm not a tour guide or anythnig but it sounds as though this book only comes in hardcover and therefore could be posted with the trade ISBN. If it's showing up as the right kind of book type when you type in the ISBN, I don't think you would need to post it under a book without an ISBN.

From what I'm understanding you are just confused by that trade after the ISBN and everything does match. It comes up as a hardcover  with that ISBN and you have a hardcover edition.

I think in this case the trade stands not for "trade size" but for trade edition- as opposed to a library or school edition.

It sounds to me like Barbara is correct.  The "trade" does sound like it refers to the edition of the book that was produced to be sold, rather than a reference to binding type.  I'd list it under that ISBN if it was mine.

This may help regarding what "library binding" is: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Library_binding
