I put my account on vacation hold for Thanksgiving week; I've used the vacation hold option before without incident, until today.  When I went back to the main page for my account, I found that three books had been posted and were on WL hold.  These are books that were not on my shelf, nor were they on my TBR, but they were books that I have received in the last few months.  I immediately sent PMs to the three people explaining the situation and asking that they accept so I can cancel and they won't lose their place in line, but I feel crummy for having to do this.  For the life of me, I can't figure out how/why those books posted in the first place!  I've also contacted TPTB.  Did I forget anything in the process?  Has anyone else  had this happen?

Sandy, since they were books you received, were they on your bookshelf on hold?  Sounds like when the vacation hold was released the bookshelf holds were also?  Please let us know what the team tells you.

That's the weird thing, I didn't have those books on hold because I knew none would be reposted to the system.  One was a book for my classroom, one was for a friend in the UK and the other was one I was sending to my sister.  Unless I missed them somewhere else, I'm completely stumped as to how they got reposted via vacation hold.  I'll update when I hear from the team.

ETA: You know, I just checked my books on hold and there are books there that should be. I'm pretty careful about not putting books on hold when they arrive.  So, either I missed them, they were put on hold anyway or something glitched in a system update.  Thanks for asking the question. :)

Sandy, I always try to click the button that says don't put the books on my shelf on hold.  And I always think I AM clicking it, but when I go to my bookshelf I'll see one or two that I missed, so it's easy to do.

That's probably it.  I just went looking further and now my bookshelf is a complete mess.  Looks like I'm going to have repost a number of books when I get back.  I went in and deleted all of the ones that shouldn't be there, but about half of what should be on my shelf is no longer there.  Weird, I've used vacation hold twice before and never had a problem.  Oh well, stuff happens.
