Last Christmas I got my mother a Kindle with the 5 way controller, she doesn't have wi-fi butwhen she would come over to my house I would connect and download books for her(we share an account).I got a Paperwhite so I gave her my Kindle touch and she gave me her old one for my daughter to use. When she gave it to me though I was no longer able to connect to my wi-fi. When I go into settings and go to Wi_fi networks it says

Available Wi-Fi Networks (0)

Network: not connected

I am connected because I am on my laptop now and my paperwhite is connected as well, any suggestions?

I never downloaded a book via USB so I have no idea how to do that if I am forever unable to connect :(

Has it been factory reset? And is it fully charged? That helped mine 'wake up' and find wifi once.

Occasionally, my Sony needs a good reboot.  Not just turn it off by the switch but actually shut it down and reboot it.  Usually solves most problems.
