Anyone read and like Conor's Way by Laura Lee Guhrke?  I'm considering buying it and was wondering peoples opinions since it's about 15 bucks with shipping.  Thanks!

I certainly liked it, but did not find it to be one of the bestest books evah.

I loved it and have it on my keeper shelf, but I don't know that I'd advise anyone to get it from a reseller for upwards of $20.  The cheapest price for it right now on half.com is $11.94 and I'd say it's worth it - and knowing what I know now, I'd have considered it worth paying $15 for.  One copy though & when that one sells the rest will be back in the $20 range.

I would, Monica.  It's rare, so you can always resell it later.

I wished I had known it was rare. I had it posted on here for at least a year.  I finally sent it to goodwill because no one wanted it.  Sorry, Monica, I would have let you have it for free.

If it had been posted FIFO, it should have been snapped up.  I have never seen the WL on that particular book below 25-30 wishers and it's at 61 right now.  Copies from Amazon have come down some in price.  I had never seen it for less than $20 there or at half.com & abebooks, and now copies in the $12-$15 range are starting to pop up.

Wow, I put off buying this because it just went out of my train of thought, and when I looked into it today it's $18 on half.com and Amazon.

The cheaper ones probably sold out.  They probably weren't in very good condition though.

They have it for $14.50. Also have a deal through google checkout, though I think it's $10 off of $60, which is not that helpful. :-\

I broke down and ordered Conor's Way from Barnes&Noble's used books. Used a gift card I got at Christmas. I think I had rather spend my money on books others have recommended than just buy and hope.  Oh,  and I saw on Ebay this morning 3 copies of To Dream Again. One of them was a "buy it now" for $3.00.  Thought that was a good deal but not sure about the condition.

It's a big favorite of mine.  In fact, I can't get "into" her newer works simply because Conor's Way was such a treat for me.  I did pony up the bucks for it on half.com.  Around the $8-10 range-but that was several years ago.

I think if there is one old Guhrke you're going to buy, Conor's Way should be it.  I have had To Dream Again on my WL for a long while now, but it's fairly cheap to get it from Amazon or half.com really - you could get a decent copy for around $10, shipping included.  I'll probably end up buying one myself.  I spent about $30 on out of print  Guhrke books, Conor's Way & TDA being the only ones I didn't get, and I passed all of them along to Sherron because none of them were keepers.  What's funny though, is that Kathleen from the forum here found a spare copy of Conor's Way at the thrift store & sent it to me, and I wouldn't part with it for the world.

I didn't know it was so rare now. Thank goodness I snapped it up and bought it brand new when it came out and still have it on my bookshelf today.
