I really do think it's fun to read this series, but there are a few things that annoy me. One is the redundancy of the introductions to each book where the author feels she needs to reiterate the whole premise of the story. It's not really necessary, as she was pumping these books out every couple of months and the target audience (kids) weren't likely to need the refresher course. It's really a page filler. Second, when are these kids going to get some better group morphs so they don't look suspicious when they hang in a pack? And, lastly, for this book anyways, Jake gets annoying. He swears to kill the yeerk "who has done this to his brother", yet that already happened earlier on and the yeerk in the kids head is a different one... I guess these are things that adults notice when they read, but a kid reading it probably won't care either way. Overall though, I'll keep reading the series because they're light reads for an adult and I kinda want to know what happens. :P

Jake's great-grandfather has died. It blows the family away-especially Jake's mom. So Jake's parents decide they should all travel to the great-grandfather's home to help with any arrangements. In another state. For three or four days.
This is a very big problem for Jake's brother, Tom. He can't be away from the Yeerk pool for that long. So Tom refuses to go-and his father insists. But Tom's Yeerk will do anything to survive. Including making his father less of a problem.
Now Jake, the other Animorphs, and Ax have to find a way to protect his father without Tom discovering their secret. And without having to choose between his father's life...and Tom's.
