Schor and Douglas Holt) use a broad definition of "consumer society", not looking just at materialism, as I might define it. Articles (they are about 25 pages long) include "Feminism and Fashion" and "Conspicuous Consumption" as well as "Touching Greatness: The Central Midwest Barry Manilow Fan Club".
