The cop's suicide on a lonely beach confirmed his guilt. He had been skimming cocaine from police impounds and selling it to drug dealers to support his own habit and a growing taste for luxury. But he was Mel's dad, and she was not about to accept this for a minute. Her dad was no dirty cop!
Joyce Spizer iss the shamus she writes about. The novels in the Harbour Pointe Mystery series are fictionalized accounts of cases she has investigated.

Pretty quick read. Female author, female lead character. Insurance investigator, Mel Walker, is convinced her cop father did NOT commit suicide. Using her professional skills (and with a little help from her friends), Mel unravels the events that led the police department to conclude that her father's death was self-inflicted. Just a little romance is included.
