What a great book! A little female rabbit wants to be an Easter bunny helper, but she can't. She's a female, and must stay home and take care of her many children. But will the Grandfather Easter Bunny feel the same way?

Very cute story about finding a replacement for one of the Easter Bunnies (there are five total Easter Bunnies) who has grown too slow. Easter Bunnies must be kind, swift, and wise. A mama bunny takes all 21 of her children to see the fun. Good drawings, nice writing, sweet story.

A charming children's gift book... beautiful 1930s illustrations and an engrossing story. Mother rabbit aspires to be the new Easter Bunny despite the fact that she comes from difficult circumstances. A treasure that teaches wonderful values: believe in yourself, take pride in doing what you can to help your family, do your best, and never give up.

I had this as a kid and read it over and over again. Could not believe it when I saw it posted here. Brought back such fond memories and I'll likely add it to my library, since it's been long gone.
