Instead, she disguises herself as a man and accepts a strangers help in hunting down a gang of rustlers.
When Robin is wounded Nathaniel Hollister discovers shes a woman. Nate binds her wounds and takes her back to the ranch, staying on until she is recovered. Nathaniel does not tell Robin he is a retired U.S. Marshall whos had enough of killing. He wants to ride through the country he has been defending and take in its majesty, without any encumbrances.
As time goes on, Robin and Nathaniel find an attraction to each other that neither can deny, but do everything in their power not to admit. Nathaniel needs absolution from the guilt of his past, something only Robin can help him find.
