What kind of crafts do you make from books?

I think I'm going to make greeting cards from one I picked up from the thrift yesterday.  It's an old time children's health and wellness book.  There are lots of pictures that strike me as silly - two kids acting like ducks, a little girl tending to her skinned knee, a girl with a birthday cake.

I also have a book that I am considering making into a purse. It's an old hardback with pretty gold trim on a brown background.

I saw the book purse thing in a purse book (har har) and thought it would be fun to try and make. I don't know if I want to sacrifice a book for it though. :-\

I found a craft book of Victorian crafts at a library sale yesterday.  It's got the coolest sewing box to make in it.  It's just a little hexagonal box.  You're supposed to use bookcovers and cloth, but I don't know if I want to waste the insides of all those books yet.  I might try using just cardboard.
