Although this is a well-worn premise Mr. Shirley has succeeded in using it without being jaded.

A town which is the site of a top secret satellite crash. The army arrives and the towns people fight for their lives against the government ... and a bio-tech weapon out of control.

The characters are well written, as are numerous action scenes. Though it is really not new, it is still worth the read, with several page-turning sections.
