I thought there used to be a way to do this, but I can't seem to find it anymore. Anyone know?

I get the other person to 'order' the book from me and then give them back a credit.

Means I can get their address, the book stays in the system and I don't have to rememebr to remove it from my bookshelf.

This has worked well for me

There is also the option to mail a book to a friend.  For this, you go to the book page of a book on your shelf.  There is a button.  You need the address.  The person receiving the book does not get a choice to RWAP.  And the sender needs to mark the book received.  But the books keep their passport (footprint).

I've done it with deals for well traveled books as I want to keep the book history.  It does not work for WL books.  And I don't have to remember to remove the book from my shelf.

Typos!

Oh, thanks for that "mail to a friend" info.  That'll be great for swaps (of non-WL books, at least).

Tracy, many of us use it on WL books too, we just post a dummy book that we know will have lots of copies in the system and use the mail to a friend option on that one. It won't track the book in the system, but you can get PBS wrapper and use PBS postage or DC if you want to.
