I am an artist and am looking for a novel with characters that are artistic. I don't want a "how-to" but a story with characters that I can relate to, that might inspire me. I also love books that illustrate the story with detail, instead of just "telling". Any suggestions? Last Edited on: 4/2/10 11:05 AM ET - Total times edited: 1 |

Try Lydia Cassatt Reading the Morning Paper. Lydia Cassatt is the sister of Mary Cassatt and takes place in Paris. Fabulous read! |

Hi, Staci! If you go to www.bpl.org (Boston Public Library), find the Catalog and key in "artists--fiction" under Subject, you will pull up a list of around 188 books. You can sort the books by date of publication, etc. I recognize the names of some of the authors of these books, but I haven't read any looking at the first few pages of the listing. Give it a try and I hope that you find inspiration! Best regards, Elaine Last Edited on: 4/1/10 5:03 PM ET - Total times edited: 1 |
