I just received a wrapper...that's all, no book because the wrapper ripped and the book fell out (apparently) during shipping. I marked it RWAP (my first time ever!) and selected Damaged By USPS...but really, it wasn't entirely a USPS issue because the paper bag that was used to wrap the book was so thin. It's not a grocery store paper bag, it's like a lunch bag paper bag. Only thinner. My DH called it tissue paper.

Did I enter the RWAP correctly? Do you think i'll get my credit back?

I was wishlisted for that book for over a year j/c.

Per help center:

If this is a book you requested, you should not mark the book received, since you did not get the book. You should contact the sender to let him or her know what happened.

The sender should call 800-ASK-USPS or go to http://postalinspectors.uspis.gov/forms/MLNtRcvd.aspx and input the information online there. This will help USPS try to recover the book.

So, hopefully the sender will return your credit. They should, as you didn't get the book.

edited to fix formatting.

Thanks Janelle. I had to request my credit back from Sender, she obliged (thankfully!). I am just so used to NOT having any problems with the books I receive that I guess I jumped the gun.

I'm glad it worked out and she returned your credit! It's nice to hear a happy ending :) Maybe a miracle will happen and the book will be found somewhere.

"Maybe a miracle will happen and the book will be found somewhere." Oooo...that would be bad. I'm back in the #1 spot for the book again. And I don't need two! :) thanks again

Unless the book was wrapped in plastic with an address inside, it's unlikely a lost book will ever be seen again.  Although there's a rumor USPS Lost and Found will check their inventory if you submit the proper paperwork.  I just wanna shop their lost book room!!

I need to remember to ask my P.O. if they have one of those.  :-)     I know that some airlines have unclaimed luggage sales; wonder if the P.O. has a similar thing for books/itmes that have fallen out of packages?
