I am fairly new to PBS.  I "ordered" a book 3 weeks ago, and the sender indicated it had been mailed.  Other books I have since ordered have shown up at my house, but not one of the very first ones I ordered.

What happens if it never shows up?  Do I get my "credit" back that I spent on the book that never arrived?

Thanks for any light someone can shed on this subject.

yes, if the book goes lost and you never receive it you will get your credit back.

if the book shows up after the 26th day (when it is considered lost) you'll need to go into the transaction archive and mark it received.

If it doesn't show it will go lost in the mail, and your credit will be returned. I wouldn't give up on it yet, though. There's a fair chance the post office is being slow--or the sender was.

Cindy, i've had that happen to me personally.  I would have to mark the book as lost, then 2 weeks later, mark it as received because I got it, then I would have to credit the sender back.  So make sure you have a credit for when that happens. =)

I just received a book mailed back in august, no reason from the PO why it took over three months to get to me, no ripps tears or stains, just showed up!

Media Mail moves in mysterious ways. I got a book from somewhere on the west coast the other day. It got to me in two days. Im in Mississippi. Then a book I mailed to Alabama went lost.

Thanks, everyone, for the help.  I will be patient, although it was marked as mailed on 10/29/2007.  I guess the Post Office does what it wants, when it wants!

Have a great evening!

PBS says not to reorder a book for at least 2 wks after it goes "lost". Someone recenlty posted on here that they got a book that went lost 7m ago and the post date was 7m old.  It wasn't like the sender forgot to mail the book.  It had actually gotten lost and took that long.

Also, if the book was mailed from (or you live in) Alaska or Hawaii, give it an extra-extra week or so.
