Yes. You only receive two promo credits, and they're a one-time thing. To get more, you need to send out books to requestors or buy credits.

2 credits is the maximum number of free credits that you can get upon first joining Paperbackswap.com.   And I believe that you have to post only 9 or 10 books in order to get those 2 free credits.

Now that you have received your 2 free credits, you have to earn credits the way that we all do - by mailing your books when they are requested.  Once your book makes it to its new home, you receive a credit for that book.

Hi Elaine!  Welcome to PBS.  I hope you enjoy it as much as I do!

Since you are showing some initial confusion, may I gently suggest that you spend some time in the Help section?  There you can find all kinds of wonderful information about posting guidelines, requests, etc.   It also explains in detail the FIFO, or First In, First Out concept which is how PBS works and how you earn your credits.  It's quite different than many other sites, as are the posting guidelines.

One of the biggest problems new members have is sometimes they get excited, post books, and start trading before they've really learned the guidelines.  Then they end with the receivers asking for their credits back when they accidentally send out something unpostable, etc.

A little bit of time with the guidelines will help make you a great trader here and avoid disappointment.

Happy reading!
