  Wake up every morning

And open my eyes

Look at the ceiling

and repress my cries

Memories of my life

The pain of loss

Every day I bear that cross

Feel like Death is next to me

Taunting me with my family

"Take me" I think to myself

"Take me and no one else"

Its been so long since I felt at peace

Every day a war that will not cease

Holds me down

Can not go no further

Living a life of a slow murder

Poetry is not my thing, but this one hit a nerve...very close to home. Very good, Karrie.
