2 cups scalded milk

1/2 cup butter

2/3 cup sugar, divided

1 tsp. salt

2 talb. yeast

4 eggs

1/4 tsp. nutmeg

7 cups sifted flour

3 cups powdered sugar

1/2 tsp. salt

1/2 tsp. vanilla

1/2 cup cold water

melt butter in hot milk, add one tsp. sugar and salt. cool beat in yeast, nutmeg, eggs and three cups of flour. add rest of flour dough will be sticky. knead for five minutes. allow to rise for one and half hours roll out
