A bit on the chaotic side--too many plot elements with none developed to the degree it ought to have been. Merrily is still a good character supported by a host of interesting secondary characters, but this is simply not as good as 1 or 2 in the series.
It is the best book I have read in awhile.......
Slow starting out, but a cracking good read once you get into it!
