I am so mad at myself! I have been waiting all summer long to see the new TV show, Crusoe, and I ended up missing half of it because I thought it started at 8 instead of 7. Aargh!!!!

Did anyone watch? Like it?

It was OK.  I turned it off after aobut 30 minutes to watch a movie about Coco Chanel which was  facinating.  Now I want to find a bio about her.

I liked that bio about Coco as well.  What a feisty lady!  I wonder what she would be designing today if she were around now?

so, I watched it over the weekend and I'm left confused....I haven't quite figured it out yet. It seems to be more of a Pirates of the Carribbean type, swashbuckling in each episode thing--the only references to the book plot are in the flashbacks Crusoe has about how he got to the island and the life he left behind.  I'll give it a few more episodes, but it feels to me like it starts in the middle with him already on the island, and if all we're getting each week is a different set of visitors to the island to provide the swashbuckling (eg, actual pirates wearing actual sashes to swash, LOL), then I may abandon it...

That's exactly what I was thinking, Colleen. I thought maybe I'd missed something during the first hour that I didn't see. If this is all this show is going to be, then I will be so disappointed! Robinson Crusoe was one of my favorite stories as a kid and I was so excited about this show. I even got a new copy of the book so that I could read it again before the show started. Gosh, I am such a nerd, huh?!

Donna, I read a great bio of Chanel a few years ago. I'm going to hunt down the title and post it here for you. It was a good one.
