This is a very, very sad book. I can not even imagine someone treating their own child bad, but even worse, to do what this mother and brothers did to him. And then, to allow others to use him as they did, for money! This book will make you cry! It's amazing he came out of all this, later to become a good person and have children and a family of his own, being a great father. The scars must have been healed by God, that's all I can say!

Heart wrenching....some people should not be allowed to have kids or to be parents.

Heart wrenching......I cant believe how a mother could do the things she did to this child and allow others to do what they did.

I would have liked to know what happened to him after he ran away at 16 for the last time, and if the people & mother was ever arrested... The writter could have tyed up lose ends a little better.
