I recently listed "Private" by James Patterson and Maxine Paetro, a new PB with ISBN# 9780099553748.  In the process it comes up with no cover image, so I scanned my copy planning to upload the image.  I find on checking my book shelf, however, that it shows the image opposite the listing.  Why is this?  This is a quite new book and I got it at a thrift store, as I don't think it has been generally released yet.  Hopefully there will be wishers for this very popular author, though.

I think your computer browser is loading your PBS page from the previously cached copy, from when the image wasn't in the system, and that's why you are not seeing the cover now when you look at the ISBN.  And when you loaded your bookshelf, it refreshed the information and therefore you saw the cover image.  Because I can see the cover image loaded when I look at the ISBN book details.

Try refreshing your page when you are on the ISBN book details page. (Hit Ctrl-F5 to force a hard refresh.)  Then, your computer will load the most recent information from the PBS server and you should see the image...

I guess it doesn't matter much because it has already been requested!  Thanks for the info., though.

If you did a search before you posted the book, or if you were the first person to every post this book, then your search (or your posting of the book) might have triggered the addition of the listing to the PBS database.

I've had this happen to me before ... and I've noticed that although the text appears quite rapidly, the images may take a few minutes to appear. So, I know I've added some listings thru my searches, see that there is no image, go off to find and upload an image, and then discover that the image has appeared in the meantime.
