Totally unimportant question, but I'm curious....I thought the green W beside a WL book meant the next-in-line member had it on autorequest (and book would go into the 1-hour pending mode), and the red W meant it was on the member's WL but on regular 48-hour notice/request.  However, I just posted 2 books, 1 with green & 1 with red W and they BOTH went on 48-hour wishlist wait.  Anybody know what the 2 colors really indicate?

I looked at past explanations of the W colors that were posted here & they seemed to indicate there was the aforementioned difference, but I know from practical experience that's not the case.

Signed, curious about a completely unimportant issue!  :)

You are correct in what they mean. It doesn't always mean that you will get an autorequest tho, the person could have been out of credits and it would convert to a 48-hr hold, or someone else posted the book just a few seconds before you.

I am also unsure how the newer Wish List Hold option affected these symbols. If I am #1 with an AR-yes but have the book on Hold, I don't know if the system see's my auto, or if it looks to #2 for what to indicate. This could also be a reason we are seeing people question the red/green coding more these days.

That makes sense!  There are probably many variables that could affect how it gets 'offered.'  Anyway, it certainly doesn't matter to me, if it's accepeted in an hour or 48 hours, I'm never in that big of a hurry....just intensely curious about how 'things' work.  Thanks!  :)

In the past if it was on auto-request....it had a green WA next to it.  Just a green W means the next person has it on their WL and has credits.  It does not mean it's auto-request.
