The Polish writer, Lem Stanisslaw died a couple of months ago. Probaly the best science fiction in any language. 2 robots try to ou-invent one another. Traveling to the far corners of the cosmos taking on free lance problem solving jobs. Really enjoyable

A lightweight set of fairy tales set in a very vaguely SF universe. Amusing, but nothing that sticks with me over time. I'd read it before - years ago - and remembered none of it. Still, it's fun while you read it, and it is probably Lem's most famous work

Much funnier and more uniquely descriptive of humanity than I'd anticipated. Douglas Adams's The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy owes much to this classic.
