I have 5 books in the last week that have went out.  Only 1 of the D/C's have been sent to the USPS.  The other 4 indicate that USPS has not record of the D/C #'s.  Anyone else have this problem??  What should I do??

The DVD site is having issues too. Not sure if it's a site issue or the post office. You may want to send a note to the team so they can research it.

When you say that USPS has not record of the D/C numbers, where are you checking?  (I'm trying to figure out if the packages haven't been scanned, or if you aren't seeing the "Electronic Shipping Info Received" info here on our site.)

We have a special page to track the PBS DC with 9452.  The other ones should show up on the USPS tracking.

PBS Tracking

That said, one of my two is not tracking.  Not even showing up as "Electronic Shipping Info Received".

I have had that trouble too. I often use the DC feature here on PBS because it's cheeper, and pay for postage at the Post Office. When I do that they invariably but the Post Offfice bar code over the PBS DC barcode. So the number they scan isn't the one the system will recognize. The funny thing is I guess they don't barcode mail dropped into the blue box because everything with PBS DC I self stamp and drop in the blue box registers.

It wasn't showing up at all when I click in my transactions so I copied the numbers to the USPS site just in case the information was not getting back here and USPS says:

  • Delivery status information is not available for your item via this web site.

Nancy, that means your post office is not following the correct procedures.  I hope they are not charging you again.  It is zip, scan, then select service type.  If they fail to follow that order, then they try to charge you again.

Thanks for the link Emily. It nice to have tho I'm not sure I'll be brave enough to use it. Last time I made the mistake of suggesting to the counter gal that she might want to brush up on her procedures things got ugly. So far no-one has charged me again. I just have a bunch of useless dc info. Luckily everything has been delivered correctly

Usually, when I use a blue box, my books will be scanned at the sorting hub.  Which is usually a day later.  This does vary by local procedures.  Some branches scan everything as they know they are on the short list for closures.

The last few of my DC books aren't getting scanned until they are almost at the destination. They had been scanning then as Acceptance when I dropped them in the blue box.

Same problem here.  My clerks were scanning and I was getting the quick credit but since Christmas, they are not scanned until they hit somewhere else, usually the processing center in Wa state.  Did anyone contact PBS?

My clerk always scans when he picks up out of my mail box.  The one book that had D/C is the only one that has been marked as arrived.frown

I notified the team yesterday morning, since several of my books had scans at the USPS website, but were not showing up on PBS.  Hopefully they'll get it figured out soon.

It appears they're working on the site again, as a lot of things are wonky.  Perhaps that is the issue.
