I was out of town recently. I had my mail held. Two books were scanned as at the unit while I was away, the same day they were scanned as deliovered. Even though I was not home and my mail was held. When i picked up my mail from the PO, neither bnook was with my stuff.

Where could my books be? Why would they scan as delivered if my mail was being held? Do I have any recourse for books scanned as delivered, but not actually received?

Call the PO to ask where your books are, Tracy. What we do in my office is if your mail is being held, we'd scan your books as delivered and usually keep them right with your held mail. There's no option on the scanner for a 'vacation hold.'  The only options available would be 'attempted' or 'delivered'.

Thank you! I did get in touch and they delivered 2 large boxes of stuff that they hadn't given me at the post office itself.
