Just wondering if everything is tracking right with dc or if anyone knows if there's a glitch.  I had a book mailed to me on the 12th and a couple days ago the little truck thing was almost to my city.  I look today and it's back in Georgia where it started.  Copied/pasted the dc to the PO website and it said it was just mailed the 21st.  I'm cornfused......I had been tracking it and it was almost to me now it's back in the state where it started and says it was just mailed yesterday?

The little truck is just an estimate. Each time the USPS tells PBS where the book really is, the truck moves to that point and then it moves along a line from there towards your city.

I realize that but why am I getting two different mail dates and why is the truck moving backwards?

I would wonder if maybe the sender did not mail it off until the 21st.  I would rely more on the DC# itself than the truck. I haven't noticed any problems with DC so I would say it wasn't mailed till the 21st.

The little truck is just an estimate.  I once had a book coming from Alaska to Tennessee and since on the map, Alaska is below the US, the little truck just drove right through Arizona!

The only accurate information is when it is actually scanned.  The rest is just a guess.

Where do I find the little truck?  I want to see one in action.  I went to my pending transactions and clicked on Details, which is where I usually find out status of my pending books, but I don't know where to look for the truck?  I'd like to see this troublesome little truck...

you have to double click the check mark to see the truck, then turn your speakers on and click the truck....

Thanks!  We love Avatar at my house.

Everytime I make the mail truck honk, my dog starts barking, I know it's silly but it amuses me.

It had been scanned on the 12th and I had been following it and it was almost here (Wed I think.)  Looked today and it's back in the same state it originated in with another scan date of today.  It's been traveling 10 days and ended up where it started.

Yes, I think there is a glitch -- my trucks have been stuck in home city location even though both have been delivered. Not your imagination.

Wow, I have another dc book coming to me from Wisc which is only a couple states away and my book has taken a detour to North Carolina.

??

no wonder postage is going up if they keep giving books rides like that

Michelle, click on the details button and not the truck. The truck is just for fun. The details button will show you any true progress the book has made. Each time it's scanned it will be recorded here.

ETA: This info is only available if the book gets scanned. I've had books scanned at the PO and never scanned again till delivery.

I had the exact same thing happen on a book mailed to me.  The book showed up the day after it showed itself back in the originating city.  I think since the truck is just for fun, it moves along at whatever speed it's programmed to do.  If it reaches your city before you get the book and mark it received it just goes back to the start of it's track (i.e., the originating city).  The post office doesn't always scan it along the way either.  I've had lots of books where the DC is scanned at the originating location and not again until it gets to the end destination.

I have been clicking on the details button.  And copying and pasting the dc # and going to the usps website.  Seriously, my books are more well travelled than I am.
