Charles Kuralt's America by Charles Kuralt ISBN 067179745X audio cassette (Tapes 1 & 2 have echo but play fine, and I didn't have any trouble understanding them. Tapes 3 & 4 aren't understandable as the sound goes in and out. These are short stories about places he's been, so you aren't missing plot line or anything by only hearing 2 tapes.)

Ghost Country by Sara Paretsky ISBN 1590402340 audio cassette (End of the final tape kept loosening up in the tape player slightly, causing it to shut off. I had to eject tape, wind it tight again, then continue playing story. Each time I wound it back to where I wasn't missing any of the story and it played fine until it shut off again at a later point in the story. It happened about 4 times, but I did get to hear the whole thing.)
Edited to add: My tape player died shortly after this, so it could've been just my tape player and not the tape at all - but I have no idea.
I've personally listened to, and can vouch for the playability of, every audio book on my shelf. I have many more audio books on cassette that I didn't get to listen to before my tape players quit that I can offer as freebies. Better deals for bigger orders.
