Cody needs a father and he picks out rancher Joe Rawlins. After a fall at the rodeo, Cody is sure that Joe really is his father! Joe agrees to pretend to be Cody's father because no one knows if it is better to play along or tell Cody the truth, not even Cody's mother, beautiful, vulnerable Marty Thomas.
The boy might tug at Joe's heart, but it is the mother that threatens Joe's soul.
Okay-- this IS a romance. And in a romance, one cannot deny a little boy his daddy and a big boy his chance at love. Good story.
