I recently signed up to get the "Daily Wish List, Mystery/Thriller Edition" e-mailed to me everyday.  What a bad idea! My WL is nearly maxed out, my RL is over 400 and I was finally forced to figure out how to make lists on my local public library site.  That list, thank heavens, is still under 30.  I go through the WL e-mail every morning and toggle to SYKM and my library website to see whats available and where.

I should probably discontinue the e-mail but I just can't stop!!  Does anyone else do this?  Will anyone else do this?  I hate to be alone!:P

Oh my, yes!!  I've received that Daily Digest for a couple years now and most of the new authors I have found come from there.  The only worse place at the  moment is the " New Cozy Mysteries to Wish List" topic here!  I figure if there is a mystery out there I haven't read, I want to know about it!  I have 178 books on my wish list, about 60 on my Reminder List, and over 100 in my TBR pile.  I figure if I live to be 103, I'll get to them all.  But again, there will always be new ones.............:D

I think I subscribed to that once for a little while but never actually clicked to see the list.  Does it show books that are added to people's WL in the mystery category?  Or WL books that are posted?

I should probably do that again (or I shouldn't, depending on how you look at it) except that I haven't even been able to keep up with my Yahoo mystery group posts, which is where I find a lot of my new authors and books.  That's why I currently have several places open on my WL, I haven't been able to check out the new listings like I usually do.  Of course, the hundreds of mystery books I have on my TBR should probably be read first...

I get the daily wish list for mystery/thrillers. I love it and check it every day!  Diane-- the daily wish list for mystery/thrillers and any other genre, lists the books after someone places a book on their WL that day. I really enjoy finding new books that someone has wishlisted that I didn't know existed. A new way to find different authors I'm not familar with. Also, it is a way to find a new book, not yet released, that someone else found before I did and the wishlist numbers are small. Then I can add it to my wishlist. I can then add any new cozies coming up to the massive list, Joy talked about. You are right, Joy, there are so many new cozies being released this year, it makes it  hard to keep up! lol

I guess I'm a ditz...I don't even see where it is?? Not that I should, my TBR is about 800...but - that's not a bad thing. Right? Right? I'm sure I'm not alone, lol!

I do get the Mystery/Thriller daily wishlist.  Many days I delete the email without looking, since I am trying to get my TBR under 50. (will probably never happen)  I agree the list is a great way to find new books coming out.

Jodi, go to your settings page and I think it's at the bottom of the page.  You can choose which genres you are interested in receiving.  Looks like you have to choose "Daily Wish List" under the Settings tab.  There you will be able to choose the genres.

Thanks so much, Terri! I looked everwhere but there. If it's too "dangerous," I'll have to stop it as the Connie's cozies thread is bumping my numbers past all reason, but it sounds fun!

Jodi, it's the first week or so that is dangerous.  After that it's pretty repetitious but you will find something to pique your interest every day.  I'm happy when it's just one or two titles and not five or six!

Way too many things pique my interest, but it will help to avoid missing out on things I might be interested in...and it might help alleviate being so far down the WL that I might as well put it on my RL. :-).

I have found brand new books/authors that receive good reviews on Amazon etc. that i've been able to jump on in the top five of the WL.  For me that's pretty exciting.  I'm usually number 37 or 52! Or worse! LOL!

I have subscribed for years, but only look very periodically...maybe a quick browse one or two times a month if that. I probably should look more, but I really have been using my library a lot more lately to pre-request those books I don't manage to get on the WL for early. Really trying to curb actually *buying* books as much as I can.

Oh good maude I could not do that!  No, let me rephrase that.  I really, REALLY shouldn't.  But y'all know me, I'm going to.   For my one stop list place I've got it all at goodreads.  I especially like it now that they have an app for the iPhone.    Mercy, I'm such a book nerd!

I get this also.  But, like Cheryl, I check it out once a month or so.    I wish the list  could be smaller.  For example (in my case), not list cozy mysteries.  I would probably glance at it more. :)
