Question about mailing gifts---   Rec'd 2 boxes with wrapped gifts this week with the corners of all the packages broken thru the giftwrap, some books, some other small items. So I'm trying to figure out what happened.  Is it probable that the items did not have enough stuffing wrapped around the items and they slid around within the box, thus damaging the corners?

Gift wrap is often brittle and easily damaged, especially the 'bargain' brands.  Which is why I don't personally recommend gift paper for mailing PBS books, even with packing tape it's easily damaged in the mail.

good point Denise. Yes, Brandy the wrapped gifts were then mailed in a cardboard box.

funny thing, though, box my elderly mother sent was half empty so packages were tossed around inside the mailing box, but not one tear in any of the 8 pkgs! Seems that they should have been more susceptible-- perhaps due to quality of giftwrap like denise said.
