This is going to sound so silly...but here goes.  I received a HB copy of The Dante Club in a swap.  If you have seen this book there are red splotches on the cover - blood.  I just started reading this weekend and noted that my dust cover also has two brownish circles on the cover...but it does not impact the book itself.  I assumed that this was part of an artistic "destressed" look to go along with the blood splatters....but now I think that maybe the rings shouldn't be there.

Anyone else have a copy you could look at and let me know if you have rings?

Thanks!  Cassandra

Here's what it looks like on PBS...

Here's a larger image on Amazon

Also, Hardbacks do NOT have to include their dustjackets so no worries, it's a postable book.

Cassandra, I once had to check a book cover against Amazon to make sure that a slightly darker, transparent circle was supposed to be there.  Believe it or not, it WAS.  I still can't figure out what it added to the cover art.

ETA:  I've found a copy of the book that had the cover that left me scratching my head.  Don't the cover artists realize that when they toss in unexpected elements they are making life more difficult for us PBS swappers?  ;->

Sex and a Double Latte: has faux coffee stains all over the book.  They look real.  It was a WL book and I actually pm'd the person to let them know that it's supposed to be that way.  I don't normally PM but I did in this instance.
