I thought the concept of the book had great potential but the actual book just kept going on and on. The ending twist was wrapped up too quickly and left me questioning what the heck just happened but the rest of the book just took forever. It lost me about midpoint when both the hero and the heroine fell in love but were both too stubborn for it to work right away. Fiona (a name that I imidiately tie in to Shreck) is almot too stubborn and pigheaded to be likable. Tarr slowly becomes a whimpering fool in love and his statements of love starting irritating me too.
I love strong female characters and Fiona is definitely strong but to a fault. I won't pick up another book by this author for a very long time if this is a true example of her offerings.

Identical twins Fiona and Aliss MacElder have vowed to stay together until they each find true love, and they refuse to break that promise just because their cousin has chosen a husband for Fiona.
By arranging a marriage with Fiona, Tarr of Hellewyk ensures his clan's right to land and power. But the twins have other plans. They refuse to tell which twin is Fiona, forcing Tarr to take them both to his keep when his lands are attacked.
Tarr plans to woo them both until Fiona surrenders. But two stubborn, beautiful women are almost too much for Tarr, until fate steps in and love sweeps Fiona into his arms. But even then his enemies plot to seize Tarr's land and power.
Funny, passionate and emotional, this utterly delightful tale proves that Fletcher can balance these elements to perfection while giving readers a cast of unforgettable characters and a multidimensional plot.

Fletcher gets better with each book love this series.
Part 1 of the Twin series (Daring & Bewitching). This was an interesting historical romance. To read it, you have to be patient and be willing to delve into a character's mind. The plot moves swiftly throughout (weeks pass by in mere pages) and has some unique twists, some you see coming and others will broadside you. I am not typically a historical fan, but found that this flowed smoothly and wasn't cumbersome with suspense, drama, storytelling and character time. I can't wait to move on to the next one!
Set in Northern Scotland in the mid 1500's. I enjoyed laughing with the heroine and her twin sister and thought their bravery in the face of men used to having their way with no questions asked was terrific! Good read, I'd like to read the next one.
Two of a kind ...
Fiery Fiona MacElder will not marry a man she does not love. Her laird will just have to find another way to merge two powerful Highland clans. Luckily, her identical twin sister shares her outrage. So when the bold warrior Tarr of Hellewyk arrives to claim Fiona as his bride, the sisters stand united, each refusing to divulge the other's true identity.
No battlefield has offered a more daunting challenge than the one Tarr now faces: two stubborn, secretive Scottish beauties and only one who can share his marriage bed. The only solution is to take both home with him until he determines which is his rightful bride. As Fiona's desire grows for this powerful, passionate man she has sworn never to wed, Tarr wonders if the twin he aches for is truly his intended. And in the face of a sensuous deception -- and a dire threat from an unexpected enemy -- will a yearning, loving heart show the way?
