In Dark Harbor, Maine, Stone Barrington discovers a picturesque town where the shocking deaths of 3 people have cast a long shadow over this island haven-a locale as mysterious as it is exclusive. Stone hasn't heard from his cousin, Dick Stone, in years-though he has fond memories of a teenage summer spent at his house in Maine. But then the CIA's Lance Cabot interrupts an otherwise pleasant meal at Elaine's with news of Dick's death-apparently by his own hand. It seems that Dick Stone, a quiet family man who doubled as a CIA agent, methodically executed his wife, daughter, and then himself-or did he?
In Dark Harbor, Maine, Stone Barrington, goes to this town in Maine only to find his cousin and family murdered, then more girls are killed, but with the help of police, he discovers the killers, in a mix of intrigue and suspense. Stuart Woods is a master storyteller.
"Stuart Woods' latest Stone Barrington novel brings his sophisticated hero to small-town New England in a complex thriller with the bold drama and page-turning suspense that makes Woods' novels 'always a pleasure to read' (The Denver Post)."
Stone Barrington and Holly Barker in the same novel! Great mystery and fast read.
this Stone Barrington adventure includes interaction with Holly Barker and Lance Cabot of the CIA quick read loaded with action and twists and turns.
As usual a great read....
Great book as usual! I love reading Stuart Woods books, especially Stone Barrington ones.
In Stuart Woods's perfect mix of sexy intrigue and swift suspense. Love his style as he has gotten older and a much better writer.
Thia was a wierd family drama. not my favorite although I love Stone Barrington series.
The normal Staurt Woods novel...Quick, good entertaining read.
Kept me wanted to read more up to the very end. Exciting, good Stone Barrington novel.
Better than most, a Stone Barrington mystery!
Stone is at it again, investigating the suicide of a CIA officer who is this own cousin. Stone travels to Dark Harbor, Maine for this adventure. Some familiar characters (Arrington, Holly Barker, Dino and even Ed Rawls) make an appearance in this novel. A great read, especially for Stone Barrington fans.
In Stuart Wood's perfect mix of sexy intrigue and swift suspense, Stone Barrington investigates the suicide of a CIA officer - his own cousin ...
Any Stone Barrington is good
Stone inherits a house, boats, cars and murders on a small island off Maine. The usual characters,Dino, Holly, Arrington, Peter, Sam, etc. join himin this well written story. I enjoyed it very much and give it four stars.
Thriller. Stone Barrington enters the picturesque town of Dark Harbor off the coast of Maine, where the shocking deaths of three people have cast a long shadow over htis island haven....a locale as mysterious as it is exclusive.
Right up there with the other Stone Barrington Novels by Stuart Woods.
Another in the series with Stone Barrington and Holly Barker. This time it is a relative of Stone's that is killed
This has 7 cds to it and is the unabridged copy.
One of the better of the Stone Barrington series. Very enjoyable. Will be vacationing 4 miles from Dark Harbor, Maine in just a few months so the setting had a special interest for me.
Love Stone Barrington stories. This is a good one and you don't figure it out till the very end.
Another good on bye Woods
I like the book better. Tony Roberts is not how I pictured Stone in my imagination and while he did a good job with all the different voices, I really would have liked someone else's face to go with Stone!
I really like all of Stuart Wood's books. This is a great read like the others.
This is Stuart Woods and Tony Roberts (reader) at their best! Woods weaves a tale as convoluted as imaginable. He injects subtle humor throughout the entire book. It is a joy to listen to and will keep you guessing.
In Stuart Wood's perfect mix of sexy intrigue and swift suspense, Stone Barrington investigates the suicide of a CIA officer--his own cousin.
Another great Stone Barrington book. The death of Stone's cousin Dick and his inheritance of Dick's house off the coast of Maine sets off a series of murders in the quiet community of Dark Harbor. The murders are much like the murders of cousin Dick and his family and Stone has to find the killer before he is formally accused of the crimes, after all, who has more to gain than Stone?
Another caper for Stone Barrrington!
It was really good, just like all of his books!
Great book! One of Stuart Woods best!!
Fantastic is the only way to describe this mystery.
Another Stone Barrington saga. Loved it.
usual 'stone barrington' novel- good read
Mystery that's a "perfect mix of sexy intrigue and swift suspense. Stone Barrington investigates the suicide of his cousin, a CIA office."
A good whodonit with lots of mystery, suspense and action.
A STONE BARRINGTON WITH ALL THE GANG A DELIGHT
I really enjoy how Woods is combining his characters in these books. This one has Stone Barrington as main character, but Holly Barker in a major role, also. I just finished it and enjoyed every page. Can't wait for the next one!
Latest Stone Barrinton book. Takes place outside of New York City. Typical fast-moving witty story line. Enjoy!
Excellent! Cast of characters include Stone, Dino, Lance, Holly, Ham, Ginny and Daisy! I love it when he combines the series'!!! Good mystery, too.
Vintage Stuart Woods. Stone is back, and Holly Barker is in trouble!
I found this book to skip in spots, leaving the reader wondering what the heck happened or how we got from point A to point B. The sex scenes add nothing to the storyline and would have been better served if left out, leaving more room for the story to develop. I usually enjoy Stuart Woods' Stone Barrington books, but this was a definite waste of time for me.
One of Woods' Stone Barrington stories with Holly Barker. Good story.
awesome read. was great for our vacation drive.
Very good read, entertaining. Another Stone Barrington mystery, set on a remote Maine island.
Great read/listen! Characters are all interesting and the many heros are computer savie and street-smart; while the unknown villians are baffeling and brilliant. Central figure, Stone Barrington, is a well respected and connected lawyer who finds that his distant relatives are shockingly linked to a chain of unsolved murders. Stone's network of friends are needed to locate and rescue his long-time girlfriend who has mysteriously disappeared while a houseguest on his Island Estate. Kept my attention from the first to the last minute and I anxiously looked forward to the next disk segment of Stuart Woods "Dark Harbor" drama. Dramatic reader "Tony Roberts" did a great job.
all of his books are excellent.
Entertaining. Easy to follow.
Stone Barrington / Holly Barker book. Another pretty good story by Stuart Woods
Good story --and not full of blood and guts either!
A Stone Barrington novel.
