Search - Dark Justice (Ben Kincaid, Bk 8)

When Ben Kincaid visits a small town in the Pacific Northwest, he immediately gets into trouble that lands him in jail. And it just went downhill from there, with him defending a former client for murder. Ben is about the only one who really believes that his client is innocent and even the client seems to be trying to sabotage his own defense. Interesting story about serious conflict between Loggers and Environmentalists that showed both sides of the debate and the fatal consequences.

One of my favorites, provides several laugh-out-loud moments in the midst of the drama. If you like the protagonist, Ben Kincaid, and the rest of his recurring cast of lawyer and private-eye assistants, you'll want to read all of them. Nice blend of genre and humor with a scrappy hero.
